Birkenstock don't oil their "oiled leather" properly. I grew up oiling horseriding saddleware and Birkenstock's "oiled leather" is dry & hard, not supple & soft. I do it myself. These are "Franca"

Updated Taupe Post. I think the color variation between my 2 year old pair and the brand new one is dramatic. This is mostly just an FYI to other taupe suede fans.
